The Village

Wimbledon Village is often described as a country village within London and you can see why with its charming architecture, winding High Street and hundreds of acres of green space. It is not uncommon for horses to be seen riding through the village on their way to Wimbledon Common. Wimbledon Town and its many amenities are approximately 1 mile away. The town has a multitude of activities and facilities which include two theatres, two Cinemas including an IMAX and a Curzon, Wimbledon Library, Centre Court Shopping Centre, every major supermarket, a bustling high street with all the usual brand names and a thriving commercial district of office and retail.

Wimbledon Station is approximately 1 mile away which serves the area with excellent transport links into Central London:

  • Underground - District Line (Earls Court takes approx 17 mins)

  • Overground - Clapham Junction 7 mins, Vauxhall 12 mins and Waterloo 18 mins, allowing much of Central London to be accessed in around half an hour.

  • Multiple bus routes serve Wimbledon including a 93 stop less than 5 mins walk from Margin Drive (more information can be found at www.tfl.gov.uk).

  • Wimbledon is well connected for those travelling by car with the A3 and its connections to the M25 and other major routes less than 1 mile away.

Wimbledon is one of the greenest places to live in London and the 1140 acres of Wimbledon Common are less than 250m away. Wimbledon Park is approx 1.5 miles distance, and the landscaped grounds of Cannizaro Park are less than 0.5 miles away just across the picturesque Rushmere Pond. Richmond park is a 15 min drive. Wimbledon is an excellent location for activities, clubs and sport with the world famous All England Lawn Tennis Championship located approximately 1 mile away, and world class fitness clubs like David Lloyds and The Wimbledon Club a few minutes drive. Wimbledon Racquets Club is located in the town and offers Badminton and Squash and there are several Golf clubs such as The Royal Wimbledon and London Scottish Golf Clubs nearby.
